I’ve been pretty happy with MX Linux on my Linux machine, but was getting frustrated because something was eating memory, and causing the system to hang periodically. Granted, my PC only has 4 gig, but isn’t Linux supposed to run lean? I narrowed the culprit down to my browser, which was Firefox. I tried a few others-MX View (the native browser), Falkon, LibreWolf, and Opera. All continued to frustrate me.
Just for the hell of it, I tried Brave, and surprise, surprise, surprise-it handled RAM much better than any of the others. The RAM consistently stays below 3 gig, even with two instances running and many tabs. It’s a keeper.
